Are you a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker with a passion for advocating for children with complex needs and their families? We are currently seeking an experienced practitioner to join a supportive and fast-paced Children with Disabilities (CWD) team.
At a highly competitive rate of £39.19 per hour, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children while benefiting from excellent compensation and a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied and complex caseload of children and young people with severe, profound, and multiple disabilities.
- Conduct comprehensive statutory assessments, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and safeguarding assessments.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review child-centered care plans tailored to individual health, educational, and social needs.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary networks, including health professionals, SEN schools, and occupational therapists.
- Provide vital support, advocacy, and guidance to parents and carers, helping them navigate short breaks, direct payments, and respite care.
- Ensure all statutory requirements, recording standards, and safeguarding procedures are rigorously met.
Essential Requirements
- A recognized qualification in Social Work (Degree, DipSW, or CQSW).
- Active registration with Social Work England (or relevant national regulatory body).
- Proven post-qualifying experience within a Children with Disabilities, complex needs, or frontline children's safeguarding team.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004 and the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act.
- Strong communication, advocacy, and report-writing skills.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for community visits.
