Locations: Placements available in Shetland, Orkney, Western Isles, or Argyll and Bute.Pay Rates (Both Roles):
- Flat rate of £21 Umbrella or £17.91 PAYE Rolled up.
The Schedule (Both Roles):
- Contract: 3-month minimum commitment.
- Hours: 45+ hours per week, typically scheduled 5-6 days per week.
Option 1: Care Home Support Worker
- Duties: Supporting older adults directly within a residential care home setting.
- Shifts: Dominantly long days (07:00 - 22:00), with potential for split shifts (07:00 - 15:00) or night working (22:00 - 07:00) depending on the placement.
- Driving: A driving licence is not required, but it is highly preferential due to the distance from accommodation to the services.
- Experience: Previous care home experience is preferred.
Option 2: Community Support Worker (Care at Home)
- Duties: Supporting adults within their own homes, completing multiple visits per day.
- Shifts: A variation of shift times covering the hours of 07:00 - 23:00.
- Driving: A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are strictly required (a UK driving licence is specifically mandatory for Orkney placements).
- Experience: Previous care at home experience is preferred.
Essential Requirements for All Applicants:
- Minimum of 1 year of care experience supporting older adults.
- Must be able to provide personal care, administer medication, and utilise safe moving and handling techniques.
- Must be comfortable and capable of lone working.
- Previous experience in island or remote placements is highly beneficial.
- Note: Female staff are currently preferred due to specific personal care requirements, however, male staff can sometimes be utilized.
