Are you an experienced Children's Social Care Team Manager looking to lead practice at the forefront of national service design?
Manchester City Council is recruiting an ambitious Children's Team Manager for their South Family Help Service based at Etrop Court in Wythenshawe. Offering £46.00 per hour, this role puts you at the heart of an innovative service serving as a pilot "test and learn" site for the Department for Education's (DfE) Families First Reforms and the rollout of the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Manage and support a dedicated pod consisting of 2 Advanced Practitioners and 4 Social Workers, providing high-quality, supportive, and reflective supervision.
- Service Scope & End-to-End Casework: Oversee practice across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Pre-Proceedings (PLO), Care Proceedings, and Adoption.
- Intake & Allocation Rota: Participate in a 10-week allocation rota to manage the intake of families entering the service.
- DfE Reforms Practice Leader: Help shape the continued development of the Family Help Service and support the integration of the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT).
- Service Integration: Collaborate seamlessly as part of a wider directorate comprising 10 Family Help teams, MACPT, and Children with Disabilities teams.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Management Experience: Proven experience as a Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager in statutory Children's Social Care (Family Help, Safeguarding, or Court teams).
- Reflective Leadership: Skilled in providing reflective supervision and driving high standards across complex safeguarding and court casework.
- Flexibility & Schedule: Available to work 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) based at Etrop Court in Wythenshawe.
