We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Registered Home Manager to implement, monitor, and review our practices, ensuring we consistently exceed regulatory standards and provide outstanding care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in both the day-to-day care of our young people and the operational leadership of the home. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Care Practice & Young People's Well being
- Holistic Support: Ensure young people receive individualised, therapeutic support when they need it, actively promoting their transition into adulthood.
- PACE Model: Embrace, support, and actively encourage the therapeutic PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) model across our services.
- Safety & Security: Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, protecting young people from harm, neglect, and bullying.
- Nurturing Environment: Assist young people in developing socially acceptable behaviours, and ensure they live in a beautifully maintained, homely, and safe setting.
- Family & Community Liaison: Support young people in maintaining constructive relationships with family, friends, and significant people in their lives.
2. Leadership & Human Resources
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance, leadership, and management to the staff team, ensuring correct staffing levels are maintained.
- Staff Development: Lead the recruitment, induction, monthly supervision (fortnightly for new staff), and appraisal of team members.
- Support & Training: Assist unqualified staff in achieving their professional qualifications and promote overall staff welfare.

3. Operations & Administration
- Compliance: Monitor and review practices to ensure compliance with the SSSC Codes of Practice, Care Inspectorate requirements, and policies.
- Care Planning: Oversee and write Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Review Reports, ensuring high-quality, accurate documentation.
- Admissions & Transitions: Ensure planned, sensitive admission and leaving processes for all young people.
4. Finance & Health and Safety
- Budget Management: Manage and operate delegated budgets within company guidelines, monitoring ongoing expenditure.
- Health & Safety: Ensure staff comply with Health & Safety requirements and maintain the physical fabric of the building and grounds.

- Experienced Leader: Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in staff supervision, recruitment, and professional development.
- Excellent Communicator: Highly organised, with the ability to manage budgets, compile detailed care reports, and maintain strong compliance systems.
- Flexible & Resilient: Ready to provide emergency cover and join our on-call system to support the wider services.
