We are recruiting an exceptional Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS) specialising in Key Stage 2 for a long-term contract starting in September 2026 at a dynamic primary school in Luton. Covering classes across Year 3 to Year 6, this role is ideal for an educator who excels at delivering targeted curriculum content, managing classroom dynamics with confidence, and preparing pupils for key milestone assessments.
Core Responsibilities
- KS2 Curriculum Delivery: Plan, adapt, and teach engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum, focusing on deep conceptual understanding in literacy, maths, and science.
- Assessment & SATs Prep: Utilise formative and summative assessment tools to monitor progress, identify learning gaps, and prepare Year 6 pupils effectively for statutory assessments.
- Classroom Team Leadership: Manage and direct classroom Teaching Assistants to deliver focused intervention groups and maintain an orderly, safe learning environment.
- Differentiated Learning: Design inclusive learning strategies to stretch higher-attaining pupils while supporting those with SEND or EAL needs.
- Phase Collaboration: Work closely with Key Stage 2 team leads and year-group colleagues to maintain curriculum consistency and share best practices.
- Parental Engagement: Maintain clear, constructive communication with parents and carers regarding academic progress, homework, and pupil wellbeing.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. Open to both experienced KS2 teachers and outstanding Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with UK teaching experience.
- KS2 Expertise: Thorough knowledge of the KS2 framework, upper primary milestone expectations, and effective assessment techniques.
- Strong Behaviour Management: A calm, firm, and encouraging approach capable of maintaining focus and high standards across active classrooms.
- Collaborative Mindset: A proactive team player dedicated to contributing to the wider school community and pupil achievement.
- Vetting Checks: Holds an Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a new application via Randstad).
