Are you an experienced Adult Mental Health Social Worker looking to join a progressive, supportive service at a pivotal time of integration and service improvement?
Salford City Council is recruiting an experienced Social Worker - Mental Health to join their Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships team based out of Prescott House in Little Hulton. Offering £35.00 per hour, this role sits at the heart of delivering statutory responsibilities, improving practice quality, and working across Adults of Working Age mental health services and the AMHP Hub.
About the Role & Service Area:
Salford is currently delivering a major transformation programme across Adult Social Care as part of a broader service improvement and integration agenda. Working with adults of working age, you will deliver a person-centred, strengths-based statutory social work service to vulnerable adults and their carers in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Interventions: Deliver person-centred statutory social work services under the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended), and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Strengths-Based Care Planning: Adopt strengths-based, enablement models and personalisation principles (Making Safeguarding Personal) to co-produce care and support plans.
- Adult Safeguarding & Risk: Take a key role in safeguarding adults through effective, multi-agency risk management, information sharing, and statutory enquiries.
- Integrated MDT Practice: Actively participate in integrated working alongside healthcare professionals, CPNs, psychiatrists, and the local AMHP Hub.
- Innovation & Support: Apply innovative approaches to support adults in the community, utilising knowledge of Welfare Rights legislation and local community assets.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications & Registration: Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW) and active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Mental Health Expertise: Proven experience working with adults presenting with complex mental health conditions within a statutory or multi-disciplinary setting. (AMHP status is welcomed).
- Legislative Knowledge: Thorough working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, MCA 2005, and Making Safeguarding Personal frameworks.
- Assessment Skills: Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with adults/carers and deliver evidence of high-quality assessment practice.
