Role Type: Contract
Client: Leading UK High Street Bank
The Role
Quantum computing is rapidly changing the cybersecurity landscape, and we need an experienced Cryptography Engineer to help future-proof our enterprise infrastructure.
You'll be working directly on our Post-Quantum Readiness & Crypto-Agility journey-mapping business impacts, running risk assessments, and delivering hands-on Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to move critical banking systems to a quantum-safe state.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build Migration Strategies: Map business impacts and design migration roadmaps to transition away from legacy algorithms.
- Assess Quantum Risk: Perform Q-Day risk assessments across internal systems and customer-facing channels.
- Deliver Hands-On PoCs: Create proofs-of-concept demonstrating practical, quantum-safe migrations.
- Prioritize Remediation: Establish a framework to sequence fixes for our most critical assets.
- Cryptographic Inventory: Work across IT and business units to build an up-to-date data inventory.
What We're Looking For
- Core Cryptography: Deep grasp of symmetric/asymmetric algorithms, PKI, and key management.
- Quantum Threat Awareness: Solid understanding of quantum threat models like Shor's and Grover's algorithms.
- Crypto-Agility & Standards: Practical experience designing crypto-agile systems aligned with NIST, FIPS, or ISO 27001 standards.
- Tooling & Scripting: Proficiency in Python (preferred), Bash, or PowerShell.
Nice to Have:
Exposure to PQC algorithms (e.g., CRYSTALS-Kyber, Dilithium), hands-on experience with HSMs or platforms like Venafi/OpenSSL, and a background in financial services.
