Knowsley Council is looking for a dedicated Children with Disabilities (CWD) Social Worker to join their supportive and close-knit team. What You Will Be Doing
- Holistic Casework: Managing a varied caseload across Child in Need (CiN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) frameworks specifically tailored to children with disabilities.
- Needs Assessments: Conducting comprehensive assessments to secure the right support packages, including direct payments, short breaks, and respite care.
- Multi-Agency Working: Collaborating seamlessly with health providers, SEN teams, and occupational therapists to ensure Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) are robust and effective.
- Empowering Families: Completing Carer's Assessments and providing vital advocacy and support to parents and carers navigating complex systems.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Professional: A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Relevant Experience: Solid post-qualifying experience in statutory children's services, ideally with direct experience or a demonstrable passion for working with children with disabilities.
- Legal Knowledge: A firm grasp of the Children Act, Care Act, and SEND statutory frameworks.
- Logistics: Enhanced DBS on the update service and a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
