The Launchpad: A Brand-New School within a National Leader
If you are an ambitious educator looking to fast-track your career in Special Educational Needs, this is your moment. Joining a brand-new SEND Secondary School (opened September 2025) offers a rare "ground floor" opportunity to establish yourself as a leader in a growing setting.
As part of This Academy Group, you aren't just joining a single school; you are joining one of the UK's most innovative providers of specialist education. For a Nurture Teacher, this means unparalleled access to group-wide resources, leadership pathways, and the professional prestige of shaping a school's culture from its inception.
Why This Role is a Career Milestone
Founding Team Influence: As we grow our strategy for students aged 11-16 with Autism and sensory processing needs, you will have a direct hand in developing the curriculum and establishing best practices that will define the school for years to come.
Professional Development: Beyond the classroom, you will work alongside a supernumerary multi-disciplinary intervention team. This collaborative environment provides a masterclass in holistic SEND support, from speech and language therapy to sensory integration.
Scalable Impact: The Aurora Group is known for its growth strategy. Success in this role positions you perfectly for future middle and senior leadership opportunities within the wider group.
The "Satellite" Experience: With the requirement to work across our main site and our satellite site in Caterham, you will gain experience managing diverse learning environments-a key skill for any aspiring Head of Department or SENDCo.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Curriculum Delivery: Contribute to the evolution of a bespoke curriculum that bridges the gap between the National Curriculum and specialist SEND requirements.
Data & Progress Management: Lead on monitoring and reporting student outcomes, gaining high-level experience in EHC plan reviews, PEP, and LAC documentation.
Expertise Development: Maintain an expert-level awareness of current issues in the field of Autism (ASC) and SEMH, ensuring your pedagogy remains at the cutting edge of special education.
What You Bring to the Team
We are looking for a high-calibre professional with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a track record of excellence in special school settings.
You should be a specialist in differentiated instruction with a robust understanding of the National Curriculum. We value candidates who see the "big picture"-those who can manage complex classroom dynamics today while keeping an eye on the systemic improvements of tomorrow. Additional SEND qualifications or experience in curriculum design are highly desirable and will be fully utilised here.
