Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a sensory-rich curriculum for pupils with complex needs (e.g. SLD, PMLD, ASD, ADHD).
- Design and implement targeted Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in partnership with the SENDCo.
- Direct and mentor classroom support staff to ensure safe and highly effective learning interventions.
- Cultivate a low-arousal, safe, and positive learning space that reduces anxiety and promotes growth.
- Collaborate closely with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and parents.
Requirements for the Role
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience teaching in an SEN or alternative provision setting.
- Knowledge of diverse learning strategies, PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration techniques.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one).
- Exceptional resilience, emotional intelligence, and positive behaviour management skills.
- Outstanding collaborative skills for working with a multidisciplinary support team.
