Randstad is recruiting a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced primary school in Hemel Hempstead. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in an inclusive, supportive learning environment, with a strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent position.
Key Duties
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and equipment setup.
- Support pupils with challenging behaviours and manage day-to-day classroom activities.
- Assist with additional personal care needs (e.g., feeding, toileting) where required.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil safety at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children/young adults with additional care needs and challenging behaviours.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and overall communication skills.
- Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).
- Team Teach certification preferred (or willingness to complete training).
- A calm, resilient, and dedicated approach to pupil development, supported by 2 professional references.
