Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker looking for a high-rate locum role within an established Duty and Assessment service in Central Lancashire?
We are currently recruiting a skilled Senior Social Worker to join a fast-paced Duty & Assessment Team across Central Lancashire. Offering a top-tier pay rate of £40.00 per hour, this role is ideal for resilient, high-performing practitioners who excel at making fast, safe, statutory child protection decisions.
Mandatory Compliance Criteria:
To be considered for this role, candidates MUST meet the following strict criteria:
- Permanent Experience: Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience in a permanent post within a UK local authority.
- Break in Service: Must NOT have held a permanent or fixed-term contract directly with this Local Authority within the last 12 weeks.
- Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Assessments: Conduct comprehensive Section 17 Child & Family Assessments and Section 47 child protection enquiries under statutory timeframes.
- Duty Management: Manage acute duty cases, initial risk assessments, and emergency safeguarding interventions.
- Court & Protection: Prepare high-quality analytical reports for Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) and initiate court proceedings/PLO where required.
- Practice Leadership: Provide informal peer guidance, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced social workers on the team.
