Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting foster carers and ensuring the best outcomes for children in care? Gateshead Council is looking for a dedicated Supervising Social Worker to join their supportive Fostering Team.
In this role, you will be at the heart of the fostering service, providing high-quality supervision and support to a diverse range of foster carers.
The Role at a Glance
Location: Gateshead
Pay Rate: £31.74 per hour
Contract: Temporary / Ongoing
Key Responsibilities
Supervision: Provide regular support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring they meet the National Minimum Standards.
Assessment: Carry out Form F assessments and present reports to the Fostering Panel.
Support: Facilitate support groups and provide training to carers to enhance their skills and confidence.
Safeguarding: Ensure all safeguarding procedures are strictly followed to maintain the safety and well-being of children in placement.
Collaboration: Work closely with Children's Social Workers to ensure stability and permanency for children and young people.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Qualifications: A degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Proven experience in a Fostering or Child Protection team.
Skills: Strong assessment skills, excellent communication, and the ability to build meaningful professional relationships with carers.
Compliance: A valid enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
