About the Role
We are partnering with a leading global cloud technology provider to find a highly motivated Support Engineer (Networking). In this role, you will act as a critical technical escalation point for enterprise customers experiencing complex network and cloud infrastructure issues.
This is a fast-paced environment perfect for an engineer who loves diving deep into packet analysis and routing protocols, and who wants to work directly with cutting-edge cloud platform technologies.
What You Will Do
- Provide advanced technical support to enterprise customers by resolving escalated, complex networking issues on a major cloud platform.
- Rapidly identify required tools, assess customer environments, and begin troubleshooting within a 15-minute window.
- Troubleshoot large network environments utilizing packet sniffing tools such as Wireshark, Network Monitor, or Message Analyzer.
- Ensure high-quality resolution to keep escalations to the core product engineering operations below 10% of total ticket volume.
- Collaborate closely with core product engineers, supportability PMs, and other technical specialists to identify process readiness needs and improve future cloud support capabilities.
What You Bring (Core Requirements)
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work 24/7 rotational shifts, including nights and weekends, to support a global customer base.
- Strong foundational knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP protocols.
- Understanding of core networking concepts including VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, MPLS, BGP, Layer 2, and Layer 3.
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Proxies and Firewalls.
- Practical experience in Infrastructure and Network Administration.
- A fundamental awareness of Private, Hybrid, and Public Cloud architectures, as well as Virtualization and SDN technologies.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows and/or Linux), Active Directory, and OS internal concepts.
