Island Care Home Support Worker (3 Month Contract)
Locations: Shetland | Orkney | Western Isles | Argyll & Bute (Open to UK wide candidates willing to relocate)
Pay Rate: £21.00/hr
Hours: 45+ hours per week (5-6 days/week) | Long days typically 07:00 - 22:00 (Nights/Short shifts specified per placement)
Contract: 3 Month Minimum Placement
Escape the hustle and bustle and experience life in Scotland's iconic island communities. We are hiring experienced Care Support Workers for 3 month contract placements within local care homes across Shetland, Orkney, the Western Isles, and Argyll & Bute.
What You'll Be Doing
- Resident Support: Provide high quality personal care, safe moving and handling, and medication administration to older adults within a care home setting.
- Lone & Team Working: Support individuals both independently and as part of the core care team.
- Flexible Rotas: Deliver care predominantly on long days (07:00-22:00), with potential for split shifts, short days, or night shifts (22:00-07:00).
Requirements
- Care Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience supporting older adults in a care setting (care home experience preferred; remote/island experience is a bonus).
- Core Skills: Competent in personal care, safe moving & handling, and medication administration.
- Flexibility: Full availability to work 5 to 6 days per week (45+ hours).
- Travel: Must be willing to relocate to island locations for the duration of the contract. A valid driving licence is preferred due to distance between accommodation and services, but not strictly required.
