Manchester City Council is recruiting an experienced Team Manager to lead their Adult Early Support Team (AEST). Offering £40.00 per hour, this role provides a crucial leadership platform at the initial point of contact for Adult Social Care across Manchester.
About the Role & Service Area:
The Adult Early Support Team (AEST) delivers Manchester's Early Help offer for Adult Social Care. Operating as the front-door service, the team delivers effective, strengths-based interventions at the first point of contact to prevent, reduce, or delay the escalation of care needs-empowering residents to maintain independence and achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front-Door Leadership: Provide operational management and leadership across a dynamic, fast-paced triage and early support team.
- Strengths-Based Practice: Embed person-centred, strengths-based interventions that prevent, reduce, or delay care needs under the Care Act 2014 framework.
- Service Quality & Performance: Drive high-quality decision-making, manage operational demand, oversee performance, and conduct regular practice audits.
- Supervision & Development: Deliver reflective supervision, coaching, and support to social workers and assessment staff in a high-volume environment.
- Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with health, housing, voluntary sector, and NHS partners to enable coordinated early intervention responses.
What We Are Looking For:
- Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Leadership Experience: Proven management or supervisory experience in statutory Adult Social Care (preferably in front-door, triage, MASH, or early support settings).
- Expertise: Deep understanding of Care Act 2014 assessments, risk management, and strengths-based practice models.
- Pace & Resilience: Ability to manage high operational demand and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
