Are you a compassionate and adaptable Care Support Worker looking for a unique, high-earning contract opportunity? We are seeking experienced care professionals for 3-month assignments supporting remote communities across the Scottish Islands (including Shetland, Orkney, the Western Isles, and Argyll & Bute).

Contract Overview & Pay
- Pay Rate: £21.00 per hour (Umbrella)
- Weekly Hours: High-volume work (45+ hours per week)
- Contract Duration: 3 Months Minimum
- Locations: Deployments across various Scottish Island communities
- Schedule: Flexible shift patterns across mornings, evenings, and weekends (typically 5-6 days per week)
Key Roles & Responsibilities
As an Island Care Support Worker, you will deliver person-centered care and daily living assistance to vulnerable individuals-primarily older adults and individuals with complex care needs-within their own homes or local community settings:
- Personal Care: Provide dignified, respectful support with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, washing, and mobility support.
- Medication Administration: Prompt and assist service users with prescribed medications, ensuring accurate record-keeping on MAR charts.
- Moving & Handling: Safely assist service users with transfers and mobility using recommended equipment (hoists, slide sheets, stand-aids) following individual care plans.
- Daily Living Support: Assist with meal preparation, basic household tasks, shopping, and ensuring a safe, clean living environment.
- Lone Working & Autonomy: Deliver high-quality care independently in community settings, showing strong initiative, clear judgment, and confidence.
- Observing & Reporting: Monitor service user health, well-being, and mood changes, maintaining accurate daily notes and reporting any safeguarding or medical concerns promptly.
Essential Candidate Requirements
- Care Experience: Minimum 1 year of UK-based care experience (care-at-home, residential, or community support).
- Driving: UK Driving License and access to a personal vehicle are strongly preferred/required for community visits.
- Core Competencies: Confident in delivering personal care, medication administration, and safe moving and handling unsupervised.
- Safeguarding: Active Adult PVG scheme membership (or willingness to update).
- Adaptability: Full flexibility to work varied shift patterns and a willingness to live and work in remote island locations for the duration of the contract.
